These images are fragments from journeys through Japan in recent years. To me, travel is not so much a geographical displacement as it is a long, deep breath amid the clamor of everyday life.
That is why I deliberately turned away from the shimmer of metropolitan life and turned instead toward those more silent realms—the lingering mist on mountain paths, sea-worn cliffs sculpted by wind and time, and ancient traces all but lost to language, hidden deep among trees and undergrowth.
It is within these quiet folds that I hope to encounter something more serene, closer to the essence of things.
